Happy Pi Day!
Today’s weather was almost identical to
yesterday’s - sunny, 65 degrees with a little breeze. We figured it would be
another good day for a hike on the second loop of the nature trail in Tate’s
Hell. We went to a different trailhead and walked 6.2 miles. The scenery was
basically the same and Ron didn’t see any of the wildlife he was looking for
such as bald eagles, snakes, bears, gators and feral monkeys. We did get in a good walk and 15,000 steps. After we went to
Pirates Cove and quenched our thirst with a beer and a margarita along with an
order of bang bang shrimp. Both the margarita and the shrimp were great! We
didn’t have dinner there because we still have left over Mac and Cheese from
Monday night's pot luck dinner. We ran into Dave and Kelly, a couple from
Michigan, that we had met at the potluck. They invited us up to look at the
condo they had rented at Pirates Landing, right next to Pirates Cove. It is
nice and new but there are lots of steps - different levels and 2 small baths
but only one bedroom. They said you don’t have to worry about being next to the
restaurant because it closes at 10:00 every day so noise isn’t a problem. Not sure though how it would work for us. We came back to the condo for our salad and Mac and Cheese and called it a day.
