Trip to Florida - Day Sixteen - Saturday, March 10, 2018 - Carrabelle and Lanark

Big doings in Carrabelle today. It was Fort Gordon Johnston Day honoring the WWII veterans, The whole town, well maybe not all 2700, turned out to watch. It was very small hometown America. We had a good vantage point from the balcony off of our room to see the parade. Kids had their bags to catch candy and adults sat along the parade route clapping. The parade started by the Tillie Miller Bridge, about a block from our condo and progressed down Highway 98. There were jeeps, tanks, Ducks, Franklin County Rescue boat, Firetrucks, Police Cruisers, Shiners in little cars, parade royalty and honored WWII veterans. After all that excitement we went for a walk on the beach and then took out our chairs and read. We went to 5:00 Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Lanark, about  miles away, but the priest didn't show up until  5:30. Maybe next week we'll try the church in Apalachicola. Then we went to C-Quarter, I think Ron's in love with the place and stopped at IGA before coming home. I made Jambalaya with some Zatiran Rice and shrimp that we bought at Millender's Fish Market. We lose an hour of sleep tonight so it'll probably be an early night.
