Trip to Maine and Prince Edward Island - Day 7 - Monday, September 10, 2018 - Cavendish,

We leave PEI tomorrow so per the recommendation of Daniel we decided to explore the Acadian area of the island. This was in the southwestern region of PEI, an area we hadn't previously visited.  We made a few shopping stops and got Ron a T-shirt before we happened upon the Acadian Museum. We watched a 15 minute video - It gave us a good overview of the Acadians and answered some questions we had. We hugged the shore on our drive and in Abrams village we found an Acadian Restaurant. We tried two Acadian dishes - rapure - this had potatoes on the bottom and a browned pork on top and an Acadian Meat pie made with pork. Both meals were accompanied by a serving of molasses. For dessert we had a pastry filled with apples and cranberries topped with a brown sugar sauce. We continued along the coastline and made it back to the campground so we could have one last long beach walk along the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Great trip!
