Trip to Maine and Prince Edward Island - Day 2 - Wednesday, September 5, 2018 - Aroostook, ME

After an early to bed I was up at what I thought was 8:25 only to find out that I had missed a time change and it was only 7:25. I think my body may still be on Sacramento time. Ate breakfast and briefly explored the park. Talked to Scott, one of the park rangers, and he told us about the different hiking trails in the park. We chose to hike the North Peak and then the Notch trail because there was a very steep and rocky scramble to do the South Peak. The North Peak was no picnic either. We both got well over our 10,000 steps and my heart rate was up there. Another couple told us though that the view from the South Peak was worth the hike so we did part of that trail and then doubled back to the Notch trail. It was quite the work out. The weather was perfect though - finally not too hot. Last night it was down in the 40s and great sleeping weather. I don't like the heat and humidity so I'm looking forward to fall with jeans and sweaters. Came back to the camper and read and rested our weary bones. Then we went to the town of Presque Isle to exchange some money for Canadian, and to get gas, ice and dinner. The Irish Setter Pub was recommended by a few people so we went there. Ron had the bangers and mash and I had the corned beef and cabbage. Along with our brews it was a good meal. Came back to the campground for showers and then had a Manhattan and read. This camping is relaxing!😀
