Up and on the road just after 8:00. We had another 5 1/2 hours to drive. All was uneventful. Got home around 1:30. It was a wonderful trip and the scenery was beautiful but as we drove down our road I realized again how fortunate we are to live where we do. Home is beautiful. Great trip but always happy to be home.

Trip to Maine and Prince Edward Island - Day 8 - Tuesday, September 11, 2018 - Cavendish, PE to Quebec, CA
Up at 7:15 and on the road by 8:00. It was nice that we didn't have to deal with the rain at all while setting up or taking down. It rained one night while we were reading in the A Liner and then stopped before we went to bed. It is supposed to rain today but later on. We went over Confederation Bridge again - all 9.5 miles of it - I can't hold my breath that long. We are taking the Canadian route again and plan to stop and hotel it tonight instead of setting up and taking down again. It is at least a 14 hour drive so too much for one day. So far we've traveled 1500 miles. I'll let you know the total when we get home. We stopped at a Mom and Dad motel south of Quebec City and north of Montreal. There wasn't much in the area but Ron had driven enough for one day. Had dinner at Subway and got to bed early.
Trip to Maine and Prince Edward Island - Day 7 - Monday, September 10, 2018 - Cavendish,
We leave PEI tomorrow so per the recommendation of Daniel we decided to explore the Acadian area of the island. This was in the southwestern region of PEI, an area we hadn't previously visited. We made a few shopping stops and got Ron a T-shirt before we happened upon the Acadian Museum. We watched a 15 minute video - It gave us a good overview of the Acadians and answered some questions we had. We hugged the shore on our drive and in Abrams village we found an Acadian Restaurant. We tried two Acadian dishes - rapure - this had potatoes on the bottom and a browned pork on top and an Acadian Meat pie made with pork. Both meals were accompanied by a serving of molasses. For dessert we had a pastry filled with apples and cranberries topped with a brown sugar sauce. We continued along the coastline and made it back to the campground so we could have one last long beach walk along the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Great trip!

Trip to Maine and Prince Edward Island - Day 6- Sunday, September 9, 2018 - Cavendish,
Got up this morning and made some stops at the local stores looking for Tshirts. We weren't successful but enjoyed the day. We went back to the Blue Mussel Cafe for a 1:30 lunch - it was even busy then - and had some lobster dip and split a lobster roll - Yum! We went to New Glascow to scout out another recommended restaurant and stopped at the toy factory. Daniel, the owner, talked to us for about 30 minutes and filled us in on PEI and recommended other places to stop. We got reservations for 7:30 at the Old Mill and then went to a shop in Brackley Beach called the Dunes that was fantastic. Such beautiful wood tables and treasures from All over. We also stopped for some goat milk ice cream - I wasn't impressed and at a goat milk soap shop. Went home and read a while and then returned to the restaurant for dinner. Ron had the Ribs and Mac and cheese and I continued the seafood tradition with a heaping plate of lobster pad Thai. Back to the campground for reading time and lights out by 10:00.

Trip to Maine and Prince Edward Island - Day 5 - Saturday, September 8, 2018 - Cavendish, PE to East Point, PE
After a hearty breakfast we took off to discover the eastern part of Prince Edward Island. The countryside is very pretty. As you travel over the hills you often come upon a lake surrounded by pine trees. There are picturesque harbors and a plethora of lighthouses. We drove about 200 miles today and have covered much of the eastern and central parts of the island. I'm afraid the western part will have to wait for another trip as we've only 2 days left. As we ventured along we'd make stops at the Provincial Parks along the way and stop to take pictures of the beautiful Delvay by the Sea Inn. We made it to "the end of the world" - East Point Lighthouse and had an ice cream at the cafe, visited the gift shop and went in the lighthouse. We continued to Soris where we had a late lunch of fish and chips at Lot 45. Got a little lost going through Charlottetown but Ron says we're never lost if we're just out for a ride. Charlottetown actually had some amazing old homes which we might have missed had we not ventured off course a bit. Stopped in Rustico to check out a few gift shops and a restaurant for future dining. Ron got a tweed cap. Came back to the trailer and had a tea and hot chocolate. We did a lot of driving so we didn't have our 10,000 steps so we walked around the campground and down the beach a ways. It was a spectacular sunset, if I had known we were going to the beach I would have taken my camera. Back to read and a snack of cheese, crackers, pepperoni and red wine.
BtW- The weather today was 62 for the high and it was in the 40's last night. I've had to layer some but I love it. Not a fan of hot weather so this is a pleasant relief. It has been great sleeping weather. I wish it were cooler when we get back home but the forecast doesn't look like it.
