Today is basically a travel day. We had
breakfast at the hotel and packed up our suitcases and left them in the hall.
Our original plan was to go out walking until we had to meet at 12:30 but it
was really pouring and we decided it was better to be dry for the bus ride. We
left at 1:00 for Straubing- a different point of embarkation. The low river
levels necessitated that. We are still crossing our fingers that we will be
able to cruise but it is somewhat doubtful. At least we’ll have tonight on the
boat.
We arrived around 4:30 and then had our welcome and orientation in the lounge. There are 130 people on the boat from all over the US and Canada. At 7:00 we had a great dinner with barley soup, shrimp ceviche, potato and salmon, pork tenderloin and cheesecake or sorbet. It really was delicious. We skipped the entertainment as we have an early morning tomorrow. The good news is that with today’s rain it looks like we will be able to complete our cruise but they still said that could change.
