In our continuing discovery of Carrabelle, today
we headed to the Carrabelle Museum. We watched a movie done by FSU students
about Tate’s Hell - a legend about how 300 acres of swamp land near here got
its name. There also were displays of famous residents, information on past
industries, etc. From there we went to the Camp Gordon Johnston WWII Museum. It
is currently housed in the old school but will be moving soon. I’m glad we saw
it now since they had a very extensive collection of exhibits and their new
venue will be much smaller. From there we just happened by the bottle house and
had to stop. A retired art professor from the University of Tennessee decided
he wanted to make a bottle house from recycled bottles and he did that and
more. The pictures will make it clearer. After we grabbed pork sandwiches and
fries from the deli. Then we stopped at the fish market to get some shrimp to
make Jambalaya tomorrow. We came home for a while to read and blog. We went and
had a great dinner at Family Coastal Restaurant. We ordered the seafood platter
for two and had more food than we could eat. Stopped at the beach on the way
home to catch a beautiful sunset and then drove around the neighborhood a
little. Another great day!
